TLS.NET Holds Its 2008 Annual Awards
TLS.NET believes in a work-hard play-hard philosophy as well as recognizing a job well done. The annual Christmas party combines those two ideas into a fun-filled night of acknowledgment and celebration.
TLS.NET mixed it up with disco balls and roller skates at the 2008 Christmas party held at Skateland in Columbus. Employees and their families cut loose as they went racing, gliding, slipping and sliding around the rink.
While several skating talents were discovered that night, awards were given to three employees whose leadership and dedication shined throughout the year.
Project Manager Marcus Thorson took home the award for Most Improved Employee.
Late in 2007 Marcus stepped up and he began to understand and take possession of his client projects with more passion, said President JT Luzius. Throughout the year he has shown dedication, ability and accuracy on his projects and TLS.NET is fortunate to have him.
“I wanted to say thank you to TLS.NET and all the employees for the Most Improved Award 2008,” Thorson said in his video acceptance speech. “All I can say is I’m gonna do my best to make 2009 even better than 2008, so I can kind of feed off this award.”
Manager of the Year for 2008 went to Nick Kaleta. Though quiet and mild mannered, Nick does not allow TLS.NET development projects to stray from TLS.NET standards of quality and professionalism. His winning personality and knowledge of all things web related landed him a manager position in two departments. His ability to multi-task keeps him centered as he juggles both departments and several employees.
And finally, Matt Hayes was awarded 2008 Employee of the Year. After starting with TLS.NET in 2005, Matt showed that he not only had impressive technical skills, but also was more than willing to assist any client at any time. This attitude spread to employees and in-house projects, and soon everyone knew that Matt was the go-to guy for technical advice. His skills and willingness to learn new things were noticed and Matt has brought those qualities to his position of Level 2 System Administrator. No doubt this is only the first of many awards he will receive.
The Christmas party is always a time for reflection and recognition, and this year was no different. TLS.NET ended another year with laughter, celebration and a desire to make 2009 even better.
