Application Service Providers (ASP’s) are reshaping the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) environment. ASP, also known as application hosting, is an innovative new model that allows businesses to access applications that are housed, maintained, upgraded and supported off-site. No software is installed on the end-user’s PC. Rather, businesses gain access to the software using a virtual private network (VPN) or wide area network (WAN) and a standard Web browser (i.e. Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer).
