Application Hosting
The Service
Application Service Providers (ASP’s) are reshaping the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) environment. ASP, also known as application hosting, is an innovative new model that allows businesses to access applications that are housed, maintained, upgraded and supported off-site. No software is installed on the end-user’s PC. Rather, businesses gain access to the software using a virtual private network (VPN) or wide area network (WAN) and a standard Web browser (i.e. Netscape Navigator or Internet Explorer). End-users can be operational in just a few minutes.
The Benefits
Traditional technology ownership requires expenditures, not only for equipment, but also for system administration and maintenance. The creeping costs for these tasks make it difficult to effectively recognize a return on investment.
In contrast, costs can be reduced and controlled when applications are accessed over the web with an ASP vendor who maintains and hosts the application and the database. In addition, the ASP handles other system maintenance tasks including back up, recovery, upgrades, network management, and user additions and deletions.
TLS.NET follows superior systems procedures for disaster recovery, user support, system upgrades, bug resolution, version control, and data security.
